They just don’t care what women think. They do it to socially engage with other men by objectifying women.

They’re bullies, and there’s absolutely no rational thought going on. Their lizard brain presents them an action and they take it immediately without even the slightest self-control. Looking from the outside you can analyze the reasons for the particular form of their outburst, in this case because objectifying women is something misogynist men can bond over and because making an aggressive advance on someone they find attractive is exciting to them in a vulgar, cave-man type way, but internally they’re doing it because it feels good to them to do, they have no capacity to introspect or restrain themselves, and they’ve never been challenged or punished for it in any way.

The patriarchy has enabled their harassing behavior by protecting them from facing consequences and making the harassed women into a subject of ridicule instead.

These guys are why women should always carry pepper spray. Hard to heckle what you can’t see. Heckling should be view as an actionable act of aggression.

Tbh I think its more about having the power to do that with no consequences than it is about actually liking women or wanting to flirt with them. I say this bc when it comes down to it, the people who engage in that behavior hate women & resent them when they have to treat them like humans.

I think both honestly, the patriarchy teaches men that they need to extract attention, love and sex from women, and that women’s rejection or coldness is just a part of the game, so it makes sense that fair amount of them think what they’re doing is okay and enjoyable for women, at the same time there’s definitely a lot of men that get off to making women feel like shit, personally i feel like the first ones could be saved and reeducated, the second ones tho just need to be done away with
