"petrakaur 19m @hmmiamnotsure Because you’re acting as though they’re making a claim about tankies actually supporting Israel and not their actual argument which is that both Zionists and tankies are atrocity defending campists.
For example you can see tankies defending and denying the genocidal deportations of Crimean Tatars, Karachay, Kalmyks, Chechen and Ingush under Stalin (defenders include popular tankie historian Grover Furr, Bill Bland of the CLGB). More broadly than just genocide you can see tankies defending the mass incarceration of Uighur Muslims under the charge of ‘extremism’, restrictions on freedom of expression and independent unions in China or the USSR that they would condemn as fascist if done in any capitalist country, support for dictators by China and the USSR (e.g. the USSR supported Ethiopian Marxist Leninist dictator Mengistu who carried out a genocide against minority ethnicities especially in the Tigray region, China today is providing support for the Myanmar Junta which participates in the genocide of Rohingya Muslims).
One final example. During the cold war a lot of the time when there is popular grassroots opposition to a US backed government the people will be called communists and dismissed as Moscow backed. This is the anti-communists’ way of denying the agency of ordinary people.
Likewise when there was unrest against Soviet backed governments (e.g. Hungary 1956, Czechoslovakia in 1968, Poland in the 1980s, Eastern Bloc as a whole 1989-1991) the communists will do the reverse, they will call the people a color revolution and dismiss them as CIA backed. This is their way of denying the agency of the common people (and Western communist parties defended the USSR invading Hungary and Czechoslovakia to crush these movements!)."
Does anyone smell paternalism in the vicinity? Also no sources lol.

Wtf is this reverse psychology bullshit, how can it be dismissed as CIA backed when it’s in the declassified CIA documents?!
The declassified doc that came out recently was actually another group that came from the one active in the 1956 counter-revolution, so it’s not a completely direct proof. However even without that document it is still very much known that it was a counter-revolution attempt, and probably backed by the CIA as all things of this nature were back in the 20th century (and still are tbh except you might have the pentagon now too lol).
Ah okay, thanks for the correction
Well they give no sources so they clearly expect to be right without having to give evidence. Also, I would be glad to see evidence of the revolutions being backed by the CIA (it seems like you know of some sources).
I don’t have the direct documents that point this out, I just recently finished reading Blackshirts & Reds and Parentti mentions this exact thing as being CIA backed.
Iirc the docs vindicating the og tankies were released relatively recently, theyre on the CIA archive thingy, its just the event was cat shaped and meowed but didnt have the “official” cat documents saying it was a cat so people lived in that plausible deniability forever
Meow zedong? BEST CAT
Oh ok I have to finish that book one day (I have so many unfinished books).
From my experience Tumblr is just really full of reactionaries and ignorant people, I really couldn’t use it because it’s obvious most of them never open a history book or any book for that matter and just generally got their ideas from other people online who also don’t have an understanding of any kind of theory, their analysis’s are usually vibes based as well.
Outside of Lemmygrad, it is hard to find social media that is not filled with reactionaries and ignorant people (hell, some outright endorse those types on their platforms).
And yet it’s ironically the least terrible option compared to all the other popular social media websites (especially the neo-nazi hellhole that is Xitter).
Also, if it weren’t for Tumblr, I wouldn’t have found the BITE model for cults:

Or this analysis of Mouthwashing’s anti-capitalist themes (SPOILERS AHEAD).
I am not that well-read on some of these points, so I will just tackle the ones I know enough about:
- They literally used the same template of an unknown person being racist about Uyghurs and changing the words so that it ends up supporting a Zionist message; saying the communist missed the point is disingenuous. Also, the weird swap-around anti-communists do never made sense to me, because if you change something fundamental about any given figure or event, then the actions that were taken or happened would not have been the same (I genuinely saw an anti-communist say on a video “if Hitler was a communist, tankies would support them”… what?).
- Tankies do not defend China doing genocide on Uyghurs because of extremism; tankies simply show evidence that there is no genocide and say that the Uyghur genocide is a myth that supports CIA funding terrorist groups in Xinjiang.
- “Dictators” have never existed due to the fact that such a concept goes against the fundamental of how governments work (even if we just examined the concept through a non-Marxist lens), so we cannot support dictators if they are incapable of existing.
- This weird “both sides are bad” argument is pathetic when you take it into such a sterile environment that is their comparison; while I do not know about the specifics of the conflicts they listed, merely listing the methods used by both sides and only seeing the same thing is an unscientific way to look at anything political (a civil rights activist punches a white supremacist, a white supremacist punches a civil rights activist; both must be bad because they did the same thing!).
- This is not related to a specific point, but the sheer amount of paternalistic racism seeping from this user is gross: They dismiss the Uyghurs saying there is no genocide and the Arab League saying there was no genocide; they treat China and the USSR as savage countries ruled by savagely unjust ways directed by the one savage man (I am using “savage” here to point out what they actually mean); and they talk about the “common people” having their agency denied when they refuse to talk about the agency of the socialist countries under “savage” dictatorships!
