The Italian newspaper L’Espresso published on its front page today an armed Zionist settler, dressed in military attire, laughing at a Palestinian woman after expelling her from her land in the West Bank.

This image perfectly encapsulates the ethnic cleansing and evil of Zionism against the native Palestinians.

A man wearing a kippah and peyote, the curly hair of Orthodox Jews, frames with his cell phone a woman wearing a patterned hijab. He is an armed Israeli, she is a Palestinian girl. But more than the clash of religions or civilizations, what strikes those viewing “The Abuse,” denounced on the cover of the new issue of L’Espresso, is the inhumanity of the settler’s grin as he contentedly frames with his cell phone the pained Arab girl, one of the victims of the increasingly frequent raids in the West Bank.

It’s a snapshot of the daily abuses endured by those unfortunate enough to be born in the territories the settlers claim to occupy to realize their dream of a “Greater Israel”: a project that harks back to the Bible and tramples on international law, as Daniele Mastrogiacomo recounts in his cover story. And it’s being built thanks to the settlers’ ongoing crimes, supported by the Israeli army, and without any concrete condemnation from the international community. Alae Al Said 's poignant article , punctuated by Pietro Masturzo 's reportage , which features in the cover photo, depicts a campaign of ethnic cleansing that follows the Gaza genocide.
