The United States Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield warned that if the Algerian proposed resolution calling for humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza were to come up for a vote as drafted, it would not be adopted by Washington.
Just a hypothetical question but how many Palestinians have to die for the US to vote to support a ceasefire? Or how many more war crimes Israel has to commit to stop them sending weapons.
The US should realise that sending them weapons empowers Israel and gives them the sense of impunity that no matter what they do they will always get a pass.
No one should be higher than basic humanitarian and international laws and with this war we clearly are showing our double standards.

@filister all of them.
The US showed its double standards way back when it passed a law authorising itself to use military force against the international criminal courts if we ever tried to hold an American accountable for war crimes or crimes against humanity.
But yeah I think what’s happening right now is a very powerful reminder of that, and isn’t being lost on the rest of the world.
