Posting here first before no stupid questions. Have or has anyone developed synthetic oil? That does not rely on sucking the earth dry? And we can pretty much get rid of the oil prob?

Synthetic oil is and has been a thing for a long time, used in lubricants.

It’s too expensive to use it as fuel, though.
