eh, in the rx280-580 the choice was not very obvious, and dlss was shit until 3.0-4.0, i legit dunno what people saw. Now the most powerful hoggers, for them the choice was always obvious, and during 1080ti it was mega obvious what to choose. raytracing is still meh-meh tech, works in like 5 games to make them prettier

that true, but i’m more baffled that like amd cards were never bad-bad, they were average and still made some sense for a price, it’s not like majority bying nvidia buys 80-90 cards, they buy like 60 and rave about dlss that looks like shit on 1080p monitor. sure upper side of the market or encoding youtube bros, that makes sense, but the lower price doesn’t, it’s just halo-marketing seems to me (again, before later dlss, now it kinda works on lower cards), my general frustration with marketing efficiency is in 680-980 gen and 2080-3080, they were dogshit, 5080 is as well.
If I remember correctly during the 2080-3080 every new game put them as minimum/recommended hardware and a more expensive AMD card for the side of AMD.
