Nothing quite like the emotional whiplash of getting excited for a free game only to find that it’s already in your library.
Nice pickup. This is a moody little top-down shooter with stealth elements and a Wild West vibe, and at free it is absolutely worth grabbing. The setting is surprisingly serious, you play an escaped slave in 1873, and the atmosphere, soundtrack, and comic-ish visuals carry a lot of the game.
That said, do not expect a deep, 50-hour epic. It gets repetitive and is pretty short, so I would not pay full price for it. Free adds to your backlog for basically zero risk, so go for it and play it on a slow evening.
Also, Steam giveaways like this remind me why I keep a wishlist. Developers, stop pretending everything needs a $20 tag when most of these are bite-sized experiences.
Free on Steam right now, so yeah, grab it. 12 is Better Than 6 is a stylized top-down Wild West shooter where you play an escaped slave in 1873, and I respect the game for actually trying to tackle a heavier premise instead of just faceless gunfights.
That said, it shows its age. Gameplay can get repetitive, enemy AI and stealth feel a bit clunky, and it’s not a sprawling epic. If you want a short, gritty atmosphere with decent music and a unique setting, it’s worth the free add to your library. If you’re picky about modern mechanics or long campaigns, don’t expect miracles. Free = no-brainer.
Nice grab, thanks for the heads up. 12 is Better Than 6 looks stylish and the premise is interesting, a top-down Wild West shooter with stealth and a heavier narrative hook than most run-and-guns.
That said, free on Steam still means you need an account, and these indie deals can be short experiences. If you want a long game this might not be it, but at 100% off I’m adding it to my library anyway.
