[FURTHER CLARITY] I am not direct friends with the person messaging outwards, the ones in grey. My friend is the one in blue. Recently we had the one in grey have a mental snap about us joking about Kirk’s death, to which he blocked most of us and started messaging my friend in the blue text. We no longer talk to the “acquaintance”

Straight up hypocrisy. Like, openly, brazenly out to view. Unhinged fucking nutjob we just found out more about.

However the actual double-think only an hour apart is fucking incredible, holy shit.

My friend responding [the one in blue] isn’t exactly…politically aware. But I think I’ve done a good job inoculating my friends against the those who deem us “degenerate roaches” and understanding their fucking rhetoric.

You never know who is in your square.

    We have different views.

This is such a typical euphemism for somebody’s toxic personality. It’s the same playbook that neoliberals employed shortly after an antifascist punched Richard ‘peaceful ethnic cleansing’ Spencer, and it collapses under minimal scrutiny: if ‘different views’ were all that it took to invoke our scorn, we would be too exhausted to get anything done since ‘different views’ are everywhere.

it’s funny, after all this time I’ve been training my friend to realize that and his training paid off. I know a dogwhistle when I see it.

It’s the exact same gaslighting tactic narcissists employ instinctively. “I’m not wrong, we just disagree” is just the polite underhanded way of saying “You are wrong, because I can never be wrong”.
