They work for like six months, then the sensor just craps out no matter how much you try changing the batteries
I’ve had the same on for 14 years, on 2 bikes and never had an issue with it. The one I have has a wired sensor.
Hmm, I tend to go with wireless ones for the ease of installation. Maybe cheap + wireless is a bad combo
It’s not bad installation, just 1 wire down the front fork and like a 2’in loop at the head tube (like a brake cable). The one I have is old enough that it does not have GPS, but I use my watch for that.
yeah go wired
Kind of off-topic as it’s a different class of device, but if anyone is looking for a data-centric cycling computer (power, gps, no navigation), the Coospo BC200 is surprisingly nice. Picked one up after I smashed one from a bigger company, and it’s an upgrade at like 1/4th the cost (and used to be cheaper). Paired with inexpensive magene sensors, it seems to be a reliable setup.
I’ve had one similar to this one for probably close to 15 years and I don’t know if I’ve ever changed the batteries. If I did, no more than once. It’s still keeping time.
