Sure, we can just assume it’s ASCII, but it seems a bit disingenuous to not tell us what encoding to use and to just let those who don’t know better continue to think that binary is sone kind of language.

the apostrophe may make it a bit clearer… even if technically incorrect usage
Could have just used propper capitalization of the acronym. Would have been equally clear.
How would you make GUI plural then? Apostrophe is an attempt to do just that, I believe.
Easy, add a lowercase s after the acronym: GUIs.
Apostrophes are only used if the acronym ends with s: SAS’s or alternatively SAS’, both are possible.
