Working on the yoke of cardigan. I increased the requisite number of rows only to be off by half the number of stitches for the front panels. Sleeves and back are correct, though.
I read the directions, I reread the directions. I recounted. I reread the directions again. Searched Ravelry for comments from others…nothing.
Took a break, reread the directions, and there it was: K1, Kfb, *K to M, M1R. I totally have missed that the Kfb every fourth row.
Time to frog!
Wow, that sounds frustrating. I’ve had similar experiences: “How is no one else having trouble with this?!? I did it right… what am I missing?!! … oh.”
It’s amazing how I can look right at an instruction like that and totally mis-read it. Stuff like this can make me a bit paranoid about double- and triple-checking my stitch count on every row. I’ve only made one sweater, but I ended up puting a stitch marker every ten stitches to make it easier to count and to see whether I messed up and where.
A stitch marker every ten stitches is my way too!
@kryptonite @jkirkendall No shame there! Markers are our friends! Anyone who scoffs just hasn’t been knitting very long!
@allisonhooper @kryptonite @jkirkendall and life lines. don’t forget your lifeline.
