It doesn’t really matter, because the fate of the war is decided in Washington and Moscow. The only say Ukrainians have is to keep fighting or to desert.
I imagine the publishing of the report reflects that the US intends to dump Ukraine.
I don’t think they are going to dump Ukraine, just cut the losses and consolidate the gains.
Cutting losses means dumping Ukraine, I can’t see how else this works. What I expect will happen is that Russia and US make a deal, and if Europe isn’t happy then the US will walk and say it’s Europe’s problem now. This gives Trump an out that he desperately wants.
No, it means limiting their ambitions to the part of Ukraine they control and stopping trying to retake the rest. Abandoning the whole of Ukraine would be a very heavy blow to the American Empire.
I mean it’s not up to them at this point. Russia will stop when they decide to stop.
