      I would take it a step further. Unless you are ready to do all your own repairs, buy from a company with a dealer network and a location near you.

      edit: I hear you thinking “but for that same price I could buy two cheap Chinese import ebikes.” Yes, and they will both be collecting dust inside a year unless you fix them yourself.

        Ain’t that right. While random chinese ebike is cheap, their part isn’t as durable as a branded one, even compared to known big chinese brand. You need to prepare for the day the thing just gonna fail you mid ride and you left stranded because your bike isn’t made to be pedalled or left you having to pedal a beefy bike. At least my experience of it is it lasted a year through rainy day and it broke when i’m just 100 meter away from my home so i can turn back, and i do this for learning experience and fix the bike myself.
