The “victim” served in the IDF and he posted antipalestinian propaganda continuously. He got the punishment the ICC and ICJ will never deliver to a white supremacist, but deserves.
Do you have a source on that?
I think Luigi demonstrated that targeted violence in the US is not inherently adventurist anymore. The masses are ready for it. If anything, a failure to engage with these events, at least on some level, constitutes tailism.
That being said, it’s difficult to determine the true impacts of anything in the hyperreal landscape of the imperial core. Bushnell’s final action was judged harshly by some leftists. It contributed to a lot more visibility and people joining movements (I don’t have good data, just anecdotally a lot of people joined our org afterwards and cited that as the reason). But the imperial death machine didn’t slow down at all. Would we have been better off if he had dedicated his life to organizing?
The problem seems to be that Western leftism is doomed to be tailist thanks to broad suppression, and thus most violent radical action (at least visible actions) will be spontaneous, individualist, and unorganized. I have a naive hope that it at least represents an evolution in Western consciousness where random, suicidal acts of violence aren’t solely enacted against children and marginalized people.
