There’s whole Marx essays waxing poetic about how absurd it is that capitalism enforces savings to not die, which undermines the market itself counterproductively. Not to shit on Mao, but Xi China is basically just shitty western capitalism but with white Jewish and certain Protestant ethnicities (and ethnosupremacies) swapped with the Han.

I get that their state does more to serve them in many regards, and they feel like their government is more responsive, it probably is. But I’m not going to buy a book to argue the point, sorry, this is all soft bigotry of low expectations all around. I still feel like best case there are Nazi-style Volkswagen/Autobahn lessons to be learned from a party actively eradicating the Uighurs. Genocide is a red line. Any diversion from class consciousness is an immediate checksum indicating corruption. But I will read it, maybe I’m wrong.
