Just signal boosting this project release. It’s led by a trans-femme developer (trapped in TERF island) and she has done a lot of work in supporting new boards. Libreboot is a distribution of coreboot that does things like neuter the Intel management engine spyware and provides a fully free UEFI interface.

With this release, libreboot boards can now boot with EFI/UEFI meaning there’s no need for grub and it has full compatibility with things like Open/FreeBSD.

I have two libreboot thinkpads and they’re the only x86_64 computers I personally own and I love using them the UEFI interface was the last thing on the my wishlist.
