All I know is that white-supremacists have a weird fascination with Rhodesia (which from the little research I did was an unrecognized state ruled by white-supremacy) and that they really hate Mugabe (while also saying he is communist)?
rhodesia, named after cecil rhodes, so you already know the level of fuckery that’s involved in this shit, was a white supremacist bourgeois project. the bastard had a mining company so he enslaved the african population of what today is zimbawe and zambia and formed this little project. every gringo’s wet dream. africa has a long history of revolutionary movement surging from inside the military, because unlike in a lot of western nations and many other places the army isn’t completely alienated. mugabe isn’t a good example, though, but since fascists are braindead they think any brown people with some semblance of sovereignty is a communist. essentially white people having a hard on for fascism.
(It would be better if you did not use the term braindead to refer to people) Why do you say Mugabe was not a good example?
because he wasn’t a marxist leninist. He did have some regard over sovereignty and appreciation for the motherland, etc, but when you see him and sankara for example they are two worlds apart. i understand mugabe had some other difficulties, but he wasn’t a formed man like sankara in the theoretical sense. i think there are some cases were he also targeted specific black minorities belonging to different ethnic.
Rhodesia went against the Queen, because she wanted a more stable government with African nobility as an element (At best the white population made up less than 10% but they controlled most of the farmland). South Africa and Portugal were its main allies since most African independence movements and states were sympathetic or straight up allied to the socialists powers. So it was propagandized as a colonial bulwark against communism.
The UN sanctioned them and did not regard the state, The West supported them anyways, Israhell especially. Mugabe was part of the pro-Chinese wing of Zimbabwe‘s socialists that won out due to their focus on rural peasantry over the urban workers. But this war took until 79, so there was little assistance from outside and then the Soviet Union collapsed and Mugabe stopped calling himself a Marxist-Leninst and adopted neoliberalism such as taking IMF loans. He also screwed up land collectivization and gave the lands to his buddies. But he did encourage Zimbabweans to simply seize back the lands from the whites. He then fought with members of the former Soviet aligned socialists and participated in the Congo War which drained the economy. He also introduced the Zimbabwean Dollar pegged to the US Dollar, which you can imagine reduced the economic sovereignty even further. Zimbabwe was also sanctioned by the West and seen as one of the „Evil States“.
White people hate him because he took their slave plantations and due to several reasons did not let them remain as „productive“ as they had been. See the lies about Israhell gifting Gaza a profitable floral industry only for eeeevuull hamas to destroy it.
What a shame that Mugabe turned into an adoptee of neoliberalism (especially considering the anti-colonial figure that he seems to be based on what you said). I also see how Rhodesia came to be worshipped among white-supremacists now (being anti-communist, white-controlled, and victim-complexed will do that).
He didn’t have a choice really. Nearly everybody else abandoned socialism or were sanctioned to heavens and beyond (North Korea had its famine years back then) and the cultural hegemony of the west peaked, so socialism under old model was seen as a dead ideology.
Yeah he was an anti-colonial Guerilla commander. Though not without his fair share of critics from the same side. Rhodesia was a more violent version of South Africa, a cautionary tale of what colonizers feared and fear would happen to South Africa. Of course most Rhodesians settled in Australia and South Africa which helped push their story a lot in the Anglosphere.
Let’s also not forget about some of Mugabe’s crimes against humanity
Could you explain? I do not know much about Mugabe beyond what white-supremacists have said of them (and they are not a very reliable source of information or anything positive).
