I signed up for the wait list for the Steam controller when it was released, but hadn’t heard anything since. When getting on the list for the Frame last night, I thought to check on the controller, and it just gave me a link to get on the list again.
‘That’s odd’ I thought, so I went back through my email and lo and behold, there was an email on the 7th of July that I’d missed. Bugger.
I got on to support to ask if I could get my request reinstated it or whether I’d have to start over. They got back to me saying that as a courtesy, they’d re-initiate my request, but I’d have to wait until the next release. ‘Fair enough’, I though, and resigned myself to waiting.
Cue to a couple of hours later, and I get the email to confirm my purchase. Sold! Should be here in a week or two.
Well done, Steam support.
UPDATE: It arrives on Monday.
Thank you for your post. I saw it and thought only a great fool would miss that email. Then I found I missed mine early August.
Emailed support and got the invite almost immediately. Steam controller inbound woohoo!

Update: responses are quick. Looks like I’m getting one in the next batch.
Update 2: Got my email yesterday and got it ordered right away.
I definitely missed mine too, somehow. But I decided I didn’t need it that bad.
The frame, on the other hand, is a must buy for me. I’ve set a reminder in my calendar to specifically check my email every day until the email comes in.
