I’ve always been concerned about the time sink I see that is needed to succeed in PoE. Is that also needed for the sequel?

I saw the skill tree for PoE 1 and shit myself

Plus the whole F2P and “the auction house is the end game” that I hear has me a little leery

I just want to play a dungeon crawler game and not interact with anything else period. No social, no multiplayer, no dailies nothing. I loathe free to play actually quite a lot because it’s manipulative as hell and tries to get you in is daily ecosystem

Can I still enjoy PoE 2 even being an absolutely filthy casual?

Honestly I just play poe2 casually on my deck and I just play how I want. “Succeed” in poe2 wasn’t something I ever set out to do…I have a job and family etc etc

Yeah you can play poe2 as a filthy casual. Expect to get stuck though at certain boss fights and having to redo your build. I just ask claude lol

Also poe2 is a much much different game than poe1. Way more than most people expected. Dodging attacks like dark Souls is a major mechanic.

I disliked poe2 because it added controller focused soulslike gameplay. Some classes play like twin shooter, and as an oldhead Diablo player I want mouse and keyboard control, which sucks. Otherwise it’s a cool game.
