Evolv Technology makes “intelligent” scanners designed to replace metal detectors by identifying people with concealed guns, knives and bombs. But the company has come under mounting criticism for overstating what the technology can deliver. It’s pretty clear the technology is not ready for this, and once again regulators and prosecutors won’t move a finger to prevent potential harm.

we have this at work, utterly useless. water bottles and tape measures routinely set it off, and knives get in “accidentally” all the time.
Same. We are allowed to carry knives in to work so I carry a work knife in and it never sets the thing off, but my laptop in my backpack does every single day.
