Most of them are actually just fed up with SPD und CDU because they run some agenda of their own completely disconnected from the problems and needs of the ordinary people. A vote for AfD is not a true vote for AfD, just a vote against SPD and CDU.
Funny enough, the constant rallying against AfD seems to just push more people who are fed up with the mainstream to vote for AfD just in spite. Feels like a self-fulfilling prophecy, in order to not vote Nazis in, you call everyone Nazi, which in turn makes everyone vote for Nazis to spite everyone else and… well. Here we are.

AfD is not winning because people like AfD. AfD is winning because people feel betrayed and unheard by the rest of the system. The 1930’s are literally repeating and we ain’t doing absolutely anything better.
Nazis wanted to strip Jews of their rights, and now non-AfD voters want to basically silence votes of people who don’t want SPD and CDU again. It’s not about the AfD. It never was. They are just banking in on a rotten system by simply being at the right time in the right place, nothing more.

That was just surpressed by the sheer social pressure that made it not ok to show it openly. Every one of those fuckers is a nazi an always has been.
There are surely also those among them, but it’s a bit much if you want to say that 45% of Saxony, who were under communists and are usually left-leaning suddenly became all Nazis overnight and fancy the far-right. It’s like claiming every German is a Nazi simply by being German.
I find this type of reasoning suspect. Oh im going to vote for the facists because of some action is not being taken in out democracy and im to lazy to influence non facist options to go in the direction I want. Heck at least in the us its the folks supporting third parties and the rational party losing support. Where I am at I am not ok with people who are voting for a party that is undermining the core principles of the country. Its no longer just a political disagreement you have people supporting straight out traitors.
What options do people have left? On one side you have the bad guys promising good times, and on the other the good guys proving day by day that they can just make the problems worse.
facists promising good times means nothing. The other option would be to make a new party that gets what you want and supports democracy and basic rights.

Yep, people do not realize how true that is. The only thing that kept the illusion up is that it was culturally not acceptable. Now that it is again, they can blandly support the thing (NSDAP, AfD, …) again.
