Day 571 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing

Today’s game is some more Alan Wake II. I made into the subway today, and I almost did the Night Springs episode but opted not too. I did spend a bit of time messing around with Photo Mode though. I know I’ve said it a bunch, but I love this game’s photo mode. It really is the best one I’ve ever had the chance to play with. I only wish I did some sort of Super Resolution when rendering them. That would be great.

With Casey’s corpse, I tried something with the Depth of Field (putting my photography course to good use). I used the flashlight to draw attention to the blood and his legs, and put a really low Depth of Field everywhere else. My goal was too kind of draw attention to the implications before the corpse. I think I could have done the Depth of Field better though.

I also tried a 2:1 aspect ratio. I felt I was focusing too much on 5:4, and wanted to try some other stuff, so I tried something a little more cinematic.

After all that Alan, who was probably begging for a break from Photo Mode, finally got down to the subway. I strolled into the first break room and stopped there. I spent maybe 2 hours playing with the photo mode, which is why I didn’t make much progress. But honestly, I’m just having fun taking pictures. I’m gonna try for some more tomorrow, so we’ll see.
