The Magic Reedpipe (RU: Волшебная свирель / Volshébnaya svírel') is a 50-minute film primarily made with stop motion, with some traditional animation and live action footage as well. A North Ossetian-Belarusian coproduction, work on the film began in 1993 and the film released in 1998 as the fifth animated feature film to come out of Russia since the collapse of the USSR. The film is presented as a grandfather telling his grandson a bedtime story, featuring ancient Ossetian gods and heroes of the mythical Nart tribe of ancient legend.

"Abraskil's Adventures" (AB: Абраскьыл ифырхаҵара / Abraskj'yl ifyrxac'ara) is a 17-minute 3D CGI short film created by Studio Apsar in the Republic of Abkhazia, a country which is recognized by only five UN member states. Released in 2020, "Abraskil's Adventures" is a short and simple story of a hero in ancient Abkhazia fighting a giant cyclops. The short actually has an official English dub, but we'll be watching it in its original Abkhaz.

"Sheydulla the Lazy" (RU: Шейдулла-лентяй Sheydúlla-lentyáy) is an episode of the Russian animated series Mountain of Gems (Гора самоцветов / Gorá samotsvétov). The series was created by studio Pilot with the support of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography, and animates folk stories of the different ethnic groups of Russia; the episode "Sheydulla the Lazy" in particular is roughly 14 minutes in length and is based on a story of the Dargin people of Dagestan.
