    I believe most would prefer a modular approach with a well built extension and addon framework.

    • can open any folder of folders of images as a slideshow
    • native ssh and ftp

    I’d prefer the web browser to be good at web browsing. Excellent software already exists that does all of that.

  • Has been an ongoing issue and well documented. This is why I can’t use an AMD GFX card with my workstation.

    This is also one of those stubborn “Linux” problems that new users run into and deters them from using the OS. It’s a BIG issue to have this caveat on Linux and keeps professionals from the platform.

    Everyone will yell about switching to display ports and downvote. Happens every time it comes up. Then they will tell you to use an adapter. Adapters will not magically give your 4k 120hz+ VRR. But they will insist. It never ends.

  • It’s not unexpected at all. Throwing in some drivers and whatnot is trivial compared to what Valve has already done with their OS. This is has always been part of their plan.

    I wouldn’t be. I appreciate the work done so far by KDE and the Plasma team. They just started support with plasma 6. It will improve.

    I wouldn’t count on them to solve it. It’s not like they have anything to do with Plasma desktop. They just package existing software in their own distro.

  • Thing is, the colors on my HDR display are all washed out on the desktop if I enable HDR. Specially without a color profile. Are you using a color profile?
