  • It started as minetest, an open source minecraft clone. It has since developed into a full voxel engine, supporting community made game modes and modpacks.

  • It can't, but I'm sure that wouldn't stop Spotify from raising a stink if they see it being bulk imported. I'd imagine this would be similar to OpenStreetMaps and Google Maps; they probably could scrape and bulk import missing info, but they restrict it to licensed sources and user edits to limit liability and enforce quality.

  • That's exactly what they're doing on the steam frame. I guess we'll see how it works out there.

  • At this point I genuinely believe OpenAI knows they're doomed. They are putting all their effort into these massive deals, trying to tie themselves to as many other companies as they can until they are "too big to fail". Then when they go bankrupt, trump won't allow the stock market to crash, so the government will step in and pay everyone out. Maybe these other companies are just trying to get in on the grift while they can.

They are referring to FEX-Emu, which is already open source (MIT).

I think the idea is that they will adopt it and contribute some development, similar to what they did with proton.

  • I'm using Ting right now. Cheapest plan is $10 + 5 per gig. I stay on wifi mostly, so that's fine for me, but there is an unlimited plan for 25. I switched to it because Google Fi had terrible service in my area. However, both services only lease access to the towers, and which towers they connect to has changed over the years, so YMMV.

  • Why is it scrambled? To keep people from copying it?

Yes. Common practice to hide your code from the user, or potential rivals. I think they've been obfuscating the whole time, even back in Notch days.

It was kinda pointless in this case, and was the reason why mod updates were slow between versions, even for simple mods.

  • They will both point to the bad door.

If asking the thruthful guard, he will point to the door the liar says is safe, which would be the bad door. If asking the liar, he would consider what the thruthful guard says is safe, then reverse that answer, still ending up on the bad door.

They cancel out, so whichever guard you ask doesn't matter.

  • Looks like the house was right on the water. It's possible their only escape from the house was onto the beach or into the water.

  • Winner takes all only applies to presidential elections. In this case, they are redistricting for more congressional seats.

  • Looks like TrueNAS.

  • Sony hasn't done the paperwork to officially do business in those countries, so you can't make a psn account. And because Sony is intent on forcing psn accounts, it leads to this stupid situation where those countries are locked out, despite Steam supporting them.

  • Only problem is streaming services like Amazon that purposefully limit the quality on Linux.

  • That's a major part in the Ender's Game series. They have faster than light communication, but the ships travel at like 90% the speed of light. So when traveling between planets, it's like a two week trip to the people traveling, but 20 years on planet.

The main character Ender travels often, so he is only 35 in the second book, a couple thousand years after the first book.

  • Unfortunately, that isn't feasible in the current system. In first past the post every vote is damage control at best.

We need ranked choice voting everywhere before people will even consider a third party.

  • Yes.

The only added flavor in standard chocolate chip cookie dough is vanilla. Plus the chocolate chips.

Of course people don't usually think about it like that because vanilla is in nearly all baked sweets.
