Honestly, these days linux runs 90%+ of windows games, often better than windows. The 10% that's left have kernel level 'anticheat' that you probably don't want anyway.
I actually run a bit of everything. Mac at work, freebsd for the servers, linux for my personal/gaming pc, windows 10 for the VR/guest pc (though I really should check how VR performance is in linux these days- I haven't checked in like 8+ years, last time I tried there was a microstutter issue that made me nauseous af, and W10 is obv going away), graphene on the phone, another phone with KaiOS to fiddle with, etc etc.
The 91-year-old author, who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1986, said the US consulate asked him to bring in his passport so his visa could be cancelled in person as new unspecified information had come to light.
Anyone else feel like they were hoping to grab him? Yikes.
This is a false equivalence. OP's post is saying that nobody, ever, should try to suggest Linux as an alternative to the problems- ethical, moral, or technical, with windows.
And your stance is 'Well that seems about right, because there might be a post or two out of dozens or even hundreds that's slightly mean."
My man, that has nothing to do with anything.
OP's post is basically saying "I want the internet to be all about me. I don't like seeing people suggest Linux, it should go away, I don't want to hear about it, and everyone should do as I say." and that's not a stance that should ever be supported.
You say 'are you giving people the same level of understanding you expect to receive from others' and it goes both ways. Guess what, I don't want to hear about people whining about how much Windows sucks ass for the hundred thousandth time when there are easy, better alternatives that they refuse to use. I'm not sitting here asking to be the main character of the internet though and demanding nobody ever talk about Windows problems ever again because 'they know what Windows is' or some nonsense like he is.
Like, I get the stance you're trying to come from here, and it's a laudable one, but you're falling for the old trick of 'well, different views from mine can be valid! We should consider them equally!'
And that's true... up to the point where that view is trying to quash other views. That's the only view you can't consider- is a view that attempts to eliminate other views. Paradox of tolerance (or contract of tolerance) in action. Used for a far sillier thing that usual, granted.
My understanding is that window's passkey support differs from something like what is offered by linux distros in that, instead of storing your passwords in a strongly encrypted, audited, and trustworthy store like 1pw or similar, windows instead stores them in the OS.
Which personally I consider a con, I don't trust windows to store pictures without fucking it up, why on earth would I give them passkeys?
Because rich people don't actually buy anything- they just get a loan, using their potential income as the collateral. You and I aren't rich enough for that, and paying down debt prevents that sort of thing from happening as well.
Yep. I broke my wrist, pretty much the same thing happened. I figured I just pinched a nerve, was going about my shit until I finally got badgered into going and getting an X-Ray.
Just as a quite warning- retrobright will make the plastic of the dreamcast white, but it will also make it more brittle, and it's not a permanent solution. It WILL yellow again, and repeated applications of retrobright will make it more and more brittle.
No idea how well it would actually work, but having https://www.howtoinventeverything.com/ (link to the book's website, not amazon, because fuck amazon) as a reference manual would probably not be a terrible idea.
I know a guy in college whose dorm ended up with a wifi naming theme. Someone (highly suspected to be the passive aggressive super religious fundie on the floor above) changed their wifi name to "Stop, we can all hear you having sex"
So naturally, someone changed theirs to 'I can hear you NOT having sex'
Not sure why you're all through this thread trying to defend google, but the entire point of why google is doing this is to close both sides of app installation- AOSP support is getting deprioritized/dropped, meaning there won't BE downstream OSes, and then they're trying to lock development behind Google's approval, blocking non-gapps stores from being able to be installed on Google's OS.
