  • This is interpreted both ways. The “original” Cult of Yahweh view saw the god Yahweh as El, the head god of the Canaanite pantheon. Later, after the Cult of Yahweh became old Judaism, the comandment was reinterpreted as Yahweh being the only god jews should worship, and then later as the only God, since any other divine being worshipped by others would not be God.

  • So your last paragraph is not entirely true. According to most Christian doctrines, the tribes of Israel stopped being a thing with Jesus, and the title now referred to the followers of the church created by Jesus. Second, the 144k is less a concrete number and more a representation of perfection. People considered pure good would recieve the seal of god on their forehead to contrast those of pure bad that recieve the mark of the beast. Third, the 144k are given the role to recruit others to fight with god against the antichrist and the beast. Finally, in Catholic and Orthodox doctrine, the 144k are theorized to be the saints reborn to lead the rightcheous to victory.

    Also, on your first paragraph, the mosque is really only significant because the location is significant to Jews. The rising spirit myth only came about after the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem and the building of the mosque to silence and control the local population.

  • Why is camo worn in cities in general or why ICE is wearing camo?

    Cities aren’t big splotches of gray. Wearing camouflage still provides some benefit when within cities. Also, uniforms are no longer just the pattern, these uniforms would also reduce IR signatures to not be seen as easily by nighht vision equipment.

    Why ICE is wearing it? Surplus. The uniforms are easy to get and identify them as some form of federal agent. The alternative is a batch of one colour uniforms which would cost a lot or go plainclothes which I consider to be worse.

  • I would like to take issue with your last two points. People in Europe vote knowing a coalition government is the outcome, meaning many people did in fact vote for Frankenstein’s Monster. Also, with the coalition, more people are represented in the government, meaning a wider range of opinions and subjectively more democratic.

  • This was actually the first time in about 8 years they made recruiting goals. The only issue is they had an abundance for the lower end jobs and much less for the higher intelect enlisted jobs. I think the one exception is the Marines, they usually make their metrics.

  • Yes, the military is overextended and “undermanned” in critical areas. I know for certain we are short about 2000 pilots and 3500 air traffic controllers in the USAF, but every branch and complex job is hurting for qualified people.

    For other scenarios: Some states require students to go through drug testing or might have mandatory random drug testing requirements to play sports. When I wrestled in high school we were drug tested once at the start of the season, then we were also hydration tested to make sure we weren’t cutting weight severely.
