  • Can't pick just one so here're a couple.

"Crypto" used in the context of cryptocurrrencies. "AI", referring only to LLMs. "Research", referring to an indeterminate amount of reading up on the topic at hand, such as in the phrase "do your own research" that's being bandied around in some communities.

  • If you live in an authoritarian system, it's not just the government you're worried about.

  • Why not just have a cap? 90% still means that they can further accumulate wealth, and taxes means they will try to dodge them.

  • This is a bad thing unless the digital currency is also privacy preserving.

  • Unfortunately, having so much wealth means they can buy the people who decide who gets charged.

  • They really are saying anything just to draw attention to their product, aren't they? Gotta feed the hype for the bubble.

  • Stellar Blade is a good game.

Also worth mentioning that I learned from this video that Shift Up removed the Playstation region lock that caused the Helldivers 2 controversy universally, so they get kudos from me.

  • Some anti cheat work better than others, and it depends on how much you'd like to play the game that needs it. Plenty of games without.

EAC does not hide its process and you can see it running. If it's not, perhaps it has left files behind, but that's a Windows issue more than EAC's.

  • there's no way for users to reliably remove it

I'm not sure if this is true for the ones backed by the larger companies, like EAC. It's possible to completely remove EAC using their installer.

Games like valorant are filled with cheaters despite using kernel anticheat

In my experience, this is untrue. Valorant isn't "filled" with cheaters in the same way Apex Legends is.

  • Lots of other games to play.

  • Transmission of energy requires... energy. Furthermore tiny antennas mean a high frequency, which don't transmit a long way. Not sure we're breaking the laws of physics any time soon, even ignoring energy density limits.

  • LLMs are not Large Medical Expert Systems. They are Large Language Models, and are evaluated on how convincing their output is, instead of how accurate or useful it is.

  • Factors besides smoking which have been implicated are

radon and second-hand smoke exposure to cooking fumes or to stoves burning wood or coal in poorly ventilated rooms outdoor air pollution

  • You made a good case for welfare, basic income, and social security. It gives us the slack we need to produce goods that aren't necessarily profitable all year round, but which we would be worse off without.

  • Since I reckon casinos don't have explicitly super evil psychological manipulation r&d departments, was this lighting something that they arrived at by observing the behaviour of the people that visit casinos?

  • Deep fried food is bad for you in general, but personally if I had to I'd take the beef tallow over PUFA for deep frying, although if the oil is used for a long period of time they are both terrible.

What are the cardiovascular effects of beef tallow that you're referring to?

  • Eicosanoids are created when polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as highly refined vegetable and seed oils, are oxidised. They increase oxidative stress on human cells. I'd err on the side of caution and avoid consuming more than necessary.
