  • Jesus, these guys just can’t keep it in their pants can they? Why not use something with more plausible deniability like an actual business card? The fact that the administration responded to this with condemnation instead of outright denial and deflection like they normally do is pretty damning.

My theory is that there is no traditional white supremacist presence in blue cities during the recent demonstrations because they’ve all been absorbed into ICE during the department’s sudden and extreme expansion. What are ICE’s new hiring practices? What vetting is done to hire these new federal agents? Where is all this money going exactly? How can we actually know any of this during one of the most opaque administrations in history?

As events play out, look for more blatant evidence of a white nationalist paramilitary presence in ICE.

  • Yes it is!

  • That’s a great question, and it is because it enables a chain of cryptographic controls that enable verification, tamper resistance, and secrecy while selling Bitlocker as computer security. It is technically secure, except that MS has your recovery keys and can just give them to whoever they want, like the FBI!

This way, they can mathematically verify:

    • Who you are and the exact unique machine you use (verification from a unique machine ID associated with your encryption keys and Windows account data)
    • Know that the data has not been altered in transit (tamper resistant hashing of your data)
    • No one else knows except them (secret encryption keys stored in hardware that only Microsoft controls, not you, Microsoft)

This architecture also keeps their data on your machine secure. If someone maintains an encrypted archive on your hard drive that only they control the keys to, say like a movie or a video game, who owns that data really? If it’s decrypted only for authorized use, you’re really only renting that content from the owner. This is called Digital Rights Management, and it’s much easier when this security chain is in place.

Technically they could do this remotely if they really wanted to and your machine were powered. Imagine what you could do with this power for every Windows machine on the planet.

  • It’s not a security flaw, it’s by design. Microsoft has been building this surveillance apparatus for years, and the purchase of government access to your computer and data using your tax dollars is a lucrative alignment of state and corporate power. Their recent design choices point to a rabid desperation to turn your PC into an Apple-style walled-garden.

    It goes like this:

    • Require online Microsoft account creation.
    • Require TPM compliance to run Windows.
    • Forcibly encrypt the user’s data under the guise of “security”, even without permission or even user action. (Encryption is good! Right?)
    • Link your identity, payment information, data, online activity, and encryption keys to your hardware ID.
    • Record everything you do and use that data to train an AI model with onboard tensor hardware.
    • Exfiltrate the entire model, or just query it remotely for “online services.” Or, in this case, just have MS give you the fucking recovery keys. lol

All done “securely” with tamper resistance and mathematical verifiability that whatever is on your device is yours, and that you took that action with limited plausible deniability.

If you think you’ve got nothing to hide, think again about the current activities of ICE, law enforcement investigations based on reproductive health data, the pornography suppression movement, age verification, and the data harvesting of dissenting speech. What’s legal today can quickly become “illegal” tomorrow. The constitution is just a piece of paper in a fancy climate controlled box.

  • Even if you don’t care that MS and the federal government can decrypt your data, when Bitlocker is enabled your MS account becomes cryptographically linked to your identity and machine, making it a powerful tool for surveillance, identification, and DRM.

  • This man has never punched in the face.

  • Great insight, thank you!

  • I heard that the sheer volume of shitty ideas that come out of his mouth means he never even has to poop.

  • It’s an anti-anti-meme-meme.

  • Fun fact: Windows will overwrite GRUB if you install Windows after Linux or otherwise perform an action that allows it to mess with the boot loader.

  • I can’t answer that question with a Yes or a No answer because I don’t really know, and I’m not willing to participate in a reductionist circle jerk that requires a one-word loyalty oath. I’m also not a psychologist, so my opinion on the matter wouldn’t hold much value.

Here is what I am fairly certain of: he will never see the inside of a courtroom let alone a cell for his crimes, and neither will anyone else implicated in the Epstein files above the level of Janitor. Instead, we should focus on the mass death, extreme suffering, and the collapse of democracy that follows Trumpism.

A white nationalist ICE is militarizing our cities today. Concentration Camps exist in America today. The plans to invade NATO allies are being drawn. Mass digital manipulation and the surveillance of regime opponents is happening now. Fascism is happening now.

The question is glib and inconsequential. Do you have any other questions?

  • This is a strange venue in which to litigate this, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to clarify my views to an interested party.

I know that the Trump administration is fighting tooth and nail to hold the release of the Epstein files, in which he is almost certainly and heavily implicated, ostensibly because they deeply fear the evidence contained within beyond the 1% that has already been made public. Clearly, this is a bipartisan topic in an age of hyper-partisanship that matters to most of the electorate and creates responses from our representatives. If it ends up being the one that brings down Trump, and hopefully Trumpism along with it, then that would be a fantastic outcome. If it brings even a smattering of justice to the victims of sexual abuse named in the evidence, even better.

However, I’m extremely skeptical that it will. Beyond Trump, the implicated are an obscenely rich and horrifically powerful class with global reach that has long since been rendered almost immune to real prosecution. Furthermore, Trump has been proven to be more slippery than a mob boss when it comes to real legal consequences. Instead, I think his removal will come as a result of his death or extreme ill-health and dementia.

In the end, it is my belief that screaming about pedophiles on the Internet and alienating allies in the fight against fascism by accusing everyone who doesn’t agree of being a pedophile (as it was in my case) is at best ineffective and at worst, trivializes and dilutes the concept and stops progress and discussion cold. It’s on the level of Internet meme at this point.

Personally, I’m much more worried about the threat of nuclear fucking war from a potential full scale invasion of NATO allies and the destabilization of the international order. So, you’ll just have to excuse me when I say I think identifying Trump as a pedophile can take a back seat to that. We all have our pet peeves I suppose; you hate pedophiles, and I don’t want to be incinerated in nuclear holocaust. In the end, I think we can agree that removing Trump and his administration is a good way to make progress on both, whatever the method.

Sorry for denying you a Yes or No answer, but my views on the issue are more complex than that.

  • I think that you know that is a deliberate misrepresentation of what I said, and anyone is welcome to view my post history and make their own determination. I stand by what I said, even if the context in which I said it could have been better. I wish you the best in your social media crusade against pedophilia, regardless of its effectiveness.

In the spirit of loaded questions and accusations: are you a fascist that supports the uniting of state violence and corporate power?

  • What a wonderful alignment of state violence with corporate power.

  • The funny thing is I’m perfectly happy with Windows 10 LTSC and if it was available without a corporate license, I would have happily paid for it. MS execs are their own worst enemy.

  • SELL SELL SELL!

This is the level of debate we’re at now.
