  • Skyrim.

I tried it for 25ish hours with around 30 mods, mostly QoL stuff with a few other tweaks thrown in. I don't like 1st person melee combat (and the 3rd person camera sucks), so I went magic. I had a magic overhaul mod, but the best spell I found was just double fireball. Every time I tried other spells, I would think "this kinda works, I guess, or I could just kill them with double fireball." Combat got pretty boring, since every engagement boiled down to double fireball until out of mana, then use bow and arrow until everything was dead.

Side note: I evidently was bitten by a vampire at some point and didn't realize I had turned into one myself until several hours later when I received the message that my vampire powers had been fully realized. I was confused as to why guards kept asking me if I was sick and commenting on how I looked so pale.

  • I picked up building plastic models a couple years ago since my tech hobbies don't really interest me anymore. I like working with my hands on my own terms and it's super satisfying to look at my completed projects.

  • Babymetal

I avoided them for quite a while because I'm not a fan of Jpop and the fusion with metal did not sound like a good mix. I eventually listened to Kingslayer, and my attitude on them a hard 180 before the song was over. They have done quite a few great collabs, but their one with Electric Callboy is just chef's kiss.

  • Apparently there are quite a few art majors who turn their "useless" art degree into a living by making hentai, especially furry stuff.

  • Big screen. Watching something on my phone in bed is not comfortable in the slightest. If I want comfort, I'll go sit on my reclining sofa and cuddle with my pup.

  • I typically don't do early access games either, but added to the watch list.

  • Check out the Youtube channel Let's Game It Out. Josh is very creative in finding ways to torment the NPCs of various simulator and tycoon games.

  • I like to buy the regular hummus and add my own spice powders to it. Just stir them in and give it some time for the spices to hydrate. You may need to add a teaspoon of water if the mixture dries out from too many spices added.

  • I don't care, I'll be dead. Whatever is cheapest and simplest.

  • I quit the game more than once during the slog that is the post-ARR questline. I got to the point where I was just skipping all dialogue, then started paying attention again when I noticed new characters being introduced. Getting to Heavensward was great, both storywise and just to be in new areas.

I heard later that they pruned that section of the questline down, and it really needed it.

  • Sure, rich people own the companies that employ the poor, but many of those same companies are investing heavily into AI and other automation so they no longer have to.

  • Physical hobbies are alive and well, but kinda niche when compared to things like video games or tv/movies. I got into model building a couple years ago, and there are plenty of folks who are into it. I would argue the hobby is bigger than it's ever been. Same goes for other things like r/c and tabletop gaming.

Also, don't forget about 3d printing, which would definitely fit as a physical hobby. It also augments the previously mentioned hobbies, as well as many more.

  • Got mine at 18 in the USA. I took a driver's ed course though my high school that included a few after school driving lessons, and my state also requires 20 hrs of driving with a licensed driver.

  • Sounds like you were shadow banned for something. Your account is still active and you can post, but no one sees them. A lot of people see this is cowardly, but many platforms use it because if you outright ban a bad actor, there's little stopping them from making a new account and continuing doing whatever it was that got them banned.

  • Is "fediverse" not an adequate name?

  • Probably more floundering. An EA exec told them at one point that their demo was crap (and based on word from other devs, he was probably right), so they reintroduced flight, which IMO was one of the best aspects of the game. EA didn't force a new story or concept on Bioware, though. All that was Bioware's own fault between lack of leadership and staff burnout.

A long read, but this article goes pretty in-depth on what happened during the development of Anthem: https://kotaku.com/how-biowares-anthem-went-wrong-1833731964

  • Netflix cancelled the show, and after fan backlash, they ended up greenlighting a finale. While the finale was pretty abrupt, it was better than nothing.

  • Maybe. Maybe not. Some Amazon exec thinks it will, though.
