Hello. I've been silenced, removed and blocked enough on lemmy dot ml for being a filthy leftist but not a falling in line defending totalitarian states full blown authoritarian communist. Sooo I'm blocking everything from lemmy dot ml so I don't have to be bothered with any more of that nonsense. If you are on lemmy dot ml and commenting on me I will not see it. Ta ta.

  • I don't have an account there and I have no interest in arguing with people that live with porn 24/7 why the rest of us aren't prudes for wanting to be able to scroll through social media without being bombarded with porn. Again, I don't mind porn, but it doesn't have to be everywhere and all the time.

  • There are addons for Firefox and other browsers too to clean out all the unwanted junk on Facebook. When I go on Facebook now it shows almost exclusively stuff that people I know have posted and groups that I follow. SocialFocus is one of them. Try it, it makes a huge difference.

  • That is true. For some reason it dropped out of my mind to block the entire domain, despite being a power user.

    Still, I don't think it needs to be standard procedure to announce every fringe porn community. As stated above, the audience will find it. And it is unnecessary for new people to the Fediverse getting the impression that this is what it is all about.

    I suggest a live in peace treaty with porn instances. Do your thing, I really don't care. Let people subscribe to whatever communities where they are federated. Again, I really do not care. But please block the instances dedicated to porn from posting anywhere else. There is really no benefit to it except the weirdos that not separate their porn addiction from regular social context.

  • Because for normal people there is a subtle difference scrolling past single announcements for communities about gardening and games vs gaping assholes and huge dicks and especially when you get tens of the latter in sequence.

  • I'm just speculating, but maybe the owner is in a different country? Not everything is America and even the EU varies somewhat in laws and regulations. Then there is the entire rest of world. And finally different people have their individual morals and stances and what risks they are willing to take for others. Regardless I don't see any need to bash anybody else over this. Just switch to an instance by your own preference and be done with it. If it is really that important; run an instance of your own, private or public, and deal with it yourself.

    But then again, my impression is also that for a lot of trans men, this has been a shocking true experience.

    So my quip has a sympathetic undertone for any trans men feeling excluded. Take it as acceptance, my guys! Hugs to you all!

  • I'm a happy meat eater and considering the number of different kinds of sausage with all different ingredients in different proportions and different textures and different herbs and spices and different skins and different sizes and different ways to prepare them I think this is absolutely ridiculous.

    If tiny dried sausages with lamb and herbs in natural skin are just as much sausage as spiced up raw mince in a plastic skin are just as much sausage as precooked hot dogs with pork and salt but mostly potato filler in mysterious edible non natural skin, then a sausage with vegetable mash for filling is definitely a sausage as well.

  • This was in the nineties in Sweden. We had a small infestation of loser nazi skins, as was common at the time. They were loud and violent. The most loud and most violent was an adopted black guy. The rest of the nazi skins tolerated him in the group because of said qualities. Or maybe because he'd beat the shit out of them if they did not.

    And before skinhead apologists enter the chat, yeah there are not neo nazi skins in the world. However in Sweden at the time it was their main attribute and main reason for shaving the head and wearing the uniform, despite a few outliers that hung around indiscriminately with the nazi ones anyway.
