  • It's been pointed in several places already, but: That's not the guy. The one in the surveillance camera footage had a jacket without these high front pockets.

  • This post made me skip a beat. For a moment there, I thought it meant Gwenview and Krdc are unmaintained and looking for new maintainers…

  • The last Windows I installed was Windows 10. I was trying to install onto a SATA SSD, while keeping my pre-existing Linux installation on the M.2 SSD intact. This took me an unreasonably long time and lots of failed attempts, and in the end, the only way I could find to make it work was to first physically remove the M.2, then install Windows, then add the M.2 back again. Which sucked a lot, because M.2s are really not optimized for easy or frequent installation and deinstallation.

  • Is the "Fire Storm" Emblem on the front of the car on the billboard making the whole thing look AI generated, or am I getting paranoid? Or maybe both?

  • Does that mean you'll do typesetting now?

  • The only label on the map that's both on Latin and in old German.

  • Because after moving very slowly and steadily for just about forever, the other galaxies will suddenly make a jump of like ten thousandth of a degree.

  • Imagine the following:

You actually can stop the time by snapping you fingers, but it stops time for the entire universe, including yourself, with the exception of one single observer on some unimportant planet in the Andromeda galaxy. After 100 years from the POV of that observer, time resumes again.

Would you even be able to tell?

  • Is OpenBSD seriously still using CVS for development?

  • Linux

    Jump
  • And "nothing" does not fit, either.

  • I can see it going both ways. Talking about execution times, this would be an exaggeration, but then, these memes always are.

  • Für mich ist die Sache glasklar:

Peter_Arbeitslos ist der Mensch, der mich immer obligatorisch runterwählt, und mit diesem Meme versucht er, mich zu gaslichtern.

  • Zu rassistisch für die AfD? Sachen gibt's…

  • The sentences are 5 years in one case and 4 in the others.

  • Anyone got a non-paywalled version?

  • I do not trust any "livability" statistic that lists Frankfurt as the most livable city in Germany.

Also, the chart does not give its selection criteria. Medium sized cities to cities on the smaller side are completely missing. I get not including towns, that would overwhelm the graph.

Then again, what even is a city, what sets it apart from a town? Different regions in Europe have vastly different definitions of that, with the UK's definition being particularly notable for how useless it is.

  • Rimworld for me.

(I have never tried Dwarf Fortress.)

Honorable mention goes to War Thunder, while it isn't on of my favorites, I was still a bit blown away to find out it runs natively on Linux.

  • Generally yes, but what's shown here isn't, it only looks a bit like it if you ignore the clearly spelled out context.

  • This is something that has been occasionally happening in Europe (at least in Germany, don't know about France) for well over 10 years now. Probably more like 15.

What's sorely needed at this point is much more storage to make this energy available when it is needed instead of when it isn't. Before that happens, you cannot really decommission any gas or coal power plants, because you still need them during times of much less renewable production.
