  • Brought being the key word, he no longer does so

  • Sorry not sorry

  • But how can you tell, there's no /s?

  • Was that sarcasm?

  • Uh, genuine interest?

  • Are reverse engineering software and binary patches currently illegal?

  • You said 'if people figure it out anyway', so I was interested in an example where people are able to figure it out but not allowed to duplicate it

  • Can you provide some examples of software benefiting from IP protections like you mention?

  • You realise geothermal is included in the category of clean, green energy? And Iceland has been pioneering the field for ages?

  • Renewable in the sense of solar, by the time it runs out we'll have bigger things to worry about

  • Iceland has geothermal power plants going down 2.5km and with temperatures of ~250°C that produce electricity, not heat.

  • Pihole or not, every device has its options for adblocking.

  • They'll issue a final warning

  • Reverse the logic though... if it were an article talking about climate change spreading disease in South America, that would be removed from the US Centric sites as well.

I would agree with that? IMO, any article talking about climate change anywhere would fall under world news due to the implications.

Regardless, I accept this is just one of those gray areas that somebody has to ultimately make a judgement call about

  • One post I removed from World News HURT because it was a good story, an important story, and it hurt my heart to remove it. The impact climate change had on the spread of disease and how a warmer climate makes the wee beasties spread easier.

Just because the article doesn't explicitly talk about the international angle doesn't mean there isn't one that can be implicitly understood by the majority of readers.

  • There's a thousand Benedictine monks who said the same thing at the thought of an unadorned, unillustrated stack of paper stapled together.

  • AI is making it possible for everybody to create art (for certain definitions of art). That's the same thing the printing press made possible, it lowered the barriers to anybody creating their own publication. The parallels are extremely numerous and striking, for those without a preexisting bias.
