  • Why are we limited to straight lines? What about C parabolic? Or log(c base 3)?

  • In a lot of places a parent working is basically pointless if they pay for childcare. A daycare near me was 600 a week. And that was only from 330(after school got out) to 600. If you work 9-5 but school gets out at 330 about 15 dollars per hour of your pay goes to daycare. If you make less than 20 an hour is that even worth working?

  • I sometimes wonder what the kids iq would be... He is 12 physically but I would put at 3 max mentally. Not saying anything negative but being honest.

He can use the bathroom but can't put his underwear on. He knocks on the door till someone comes put his underwear back on.

Eating a bowl of cereal is 50/50 if he can do it himself.

He likes watching blues clues, Thomas and friends, paw patrol. He yells the answer to most questions but I don't know if he knows the answer or just knows they say this so I should say that.

He is severely autistic and epileptic among other problems. He is sweet and loving but how to measure what his actual intelligence I have no idea.

  • You are sorta right but missing the idea of inheritance. A man in Kentucky with enough resources to move probably didn't live in a trailer park or likely didn't go to public school. He was raised with a tutor and in "that house" in the town.

Moving doesn't make you a better person but if you have the means your child is not growing up in that culture, maybe Kentucky but not in a trailer...

  • True, as I think about it, it may be an inverse parabolic function. Low wealth is lots of kids(need help to survive) , sustainable wealth low kids(I can support myself but no more) , high wealth high kids(I'm so great my genes must be passed on and I have the means to do so) ...

  • How old is old? Recommendations for 85+ is different then if your in hs and asking about your 40 year old father...

  • How does being wealthy cause low birth rates? Maybe the other way (less population causes concentration of wealth or maybe I'm so busy making money I don't have time to make babies) but I don't see wealth causing low birth.

Are you saying people are thinking "look at this 6 figure bank account, we shouldn't have any children, we just need to increase it to 7"

  • Wait... Ups drivers get $46 a hour? Where?

  • I was almost killed by police years ago. I worked for a it company who was contracted to a credit union to basically be their it department. They were opening a new branch. I was there doing the final preparations as the grand opening was the next morning. Everything was done, I told the vp/cto/cfo who was my main contact that I would be back the next day but everything should be set so I was calling it a day. I had a notebook with passwords, ip addresses, etc. Which I left behind by accident. I walked out the door and there was 6 cop cars in a semi circle, cops behind their car doors, guns pointed at me, screaming "get down with your hands above your head". I'm not a fool so I got on the ground. Luckily the vp saw I left my notebook and walked out to give it to me before I drove off. He walked out and got same screaming. He basically gave them his name and titles and we were brought into the building and found the CEO.

Turns out they installed a security system and the security company tested the system to ensure it was working. They forgot to inform the cops that it was a test. The best part was I was there when the cops gave essentially a ticket for false report to the ceo, I forget the cost but it was in the tens of thousands. The ceo took the ticket "thank you officer" and without missing a beat just turned to the guy from the security company "and this is for you". No question, no negotiation, just like you fucked up and I'm not covering it.

  • Makes you wonder if the Japanese "rent-a-friend" service might actually be a good idea. Ok, need a different name but...

  • I have no experience or first hand knowledge of this but I saw a video with prostitutes being interviewed years ago. They said a depressingly large amount of people hired them just to talk and converse. No sex. Just talking like a good friend because the person hiring them didn't have any. They just wanted someone to be their friend. It was really sad.

I just remembered one of the stories where the girl said one of the guys was a early 50s man who was sometype of manager. He would hire her about every other week. They would go to a dinner and just talk about random stuff for an hour or two over coffee and some light food. She said he previously had a wife who died during child birth(daughter also died) and he couldn't bring himself to be with another woman because he loved his wife so much. He stopped calling her and after about 2 months she tried asking around if anyone had seen him. It turned out he took his own life. She started crying in the video because she couldn't go to funeral as it was several weeks earlier and wished she could have said good bye to him.

  • Snow I'll drive safe and slow... Ice fuck it, fire me

  • Yeah but it would still need some sort of reference to base it's generated image on...

  • Makes sense. Just letting you know even water just sitting there will pay for itself in electric cost.

  • If he was lost as a miscarriage... How would the Ai even have any reference for what he would look like?

  • You're forgetting about Duke nukem as being controversial

  • If you have both does siphilis and small pox does it become mega or epic pox?

  • So this is being built for me, may release it to public don't know. My logic is basically personal pc hosts dB and has a api to handle working with dB. On my phone and girlfriend phone and potentially babysitter phone have a ui(probably Maui) to generate api calls and send to my pc.

Also potentially thinking may get some free webserver (basically like <20 api calls a days max and small dB with maybe 1000 rows) not for security of the data but more just not having open network ports to the internet without having the security infrastructure.

Kid has bad epilepsy and is also non-verbal autistic(well, partially verbal). I wanted a way to track seizures and give a doctor like a csv or maybe even a some graphs for like time of day, activity when seizure occurred, seizure vs most recent medication etc. Doctor asks "how frequent are his seizures?" a response of 2.7 seizures per day on average with the highest tendency around breakfast time is probably more helpful than "eh, seems better than last year but still pretty bad"

Plus I want to track when he has been given medication. He gets medication at 7pm for example. I look at clock at see it's 715, now I have to go to my girlfriend "did kid have his medicine?" or he has other medication at 2pm, let's say it's a weekend and I take a nap. I wake up at 330, I ask if he had his medication..."umm I think I gave it to him".

The point is to have 1 point of truth with multiple clients able to update that truth, I can't do that if the system is local only.

  • Just a recommendation, fill that fridge with more stuff. If you have an empty fridge you use the most electric to cool it. All the food acts as a heat sink so a fully stocked refrigerator is alot more efficient than an empty one.
