  • Both are open protocols for communication over the Internet. Both have been adopted by a large corporate interest.

    Now, how are they different?

  • "The flood of crap" isn't what people should be worried about. They should be worried about Meta embracing, extending, and extinguishing the Fediverse. There's a good article about this here. People are worried about the wrong things and don't realize what's at stake.

  • Aren't we all supposed to be dead by now from the poisonous vaccine? This has got to be the slowest-working poison I've ever seen.

  • I think the reason why people in the US care about this genocide (and not others) is because the US is funding it so hard.

    Most of the distros I've tried "just work". It connects to my wifi, I can go on websites, I can read my email. What are you trying to do that isn't working?

  • To use your car analogy, using Windows is like using a car that has the hood welded shut and can only be opened with a special key that only the auto manufacturer has.

    You can't repair it yourself. You can't just take it to any expert to get it fixed. Only the manufacturer can fix it, because the source code (or car hood) is closed.

  • I use both terms. If I'm accessing it from a GUI, it's a folder. From the command line, it's a directory.
