  • Ha, neat :) Wo krieg ich das mit, wenn und falls der Verkauf startet?

  • Ich hab heute den Kalender mal wieder umgeblättert, nicht mehr datumsrelatiert, natürlich, und er ist immer noch großartig. Machste sowas nochmal?

  • The farm down the road has a freezer in a little tin shed with a money jar sitting on top and ten eggs are 2.50€, 3€ for large ones. So... you guys paying vastly more?

  • Yes, they don't. What good would that be for the intended purpose, e.g. coming to a stop at a red light.

  • That's all bullshit of course. Cars lock the doors when going above a certain speed for the first time and the airbag control module always sends a crash signal across the various can buses during an airbag deployment event that is used by various other control units for example to unlock the doors or kill the gas pump. My twenty year old Audi had that

  • Absolutely, I was always faster with my bike inside the outer city ring, mainly because I saved looking for a parking space. Now? Not so much. My commute is 50km across the mountains, 45 minutes by car, three hours by bike if I take the electric one.

  • 2011-ish, Bavaria, 30-ish guests.

  • If it's expected, you have a circle of friends that do not really align with your idea of a good life. Sounds harsh, but please, I've been to fun weddings that were had at maybe 3k€ and nobody left hungry or thirsty and the close family guests from far away were even booked rooms nearby.

  • As with everything climate and environment related - as soon as the slightest inconvenience might occur, all hard fought for regulation goes out the window.

  • The end result will be lots of billable hours for consulting companies and half a cargo coil of 5mm lead sheet, probably.

  • I've stopped doing that and just put my own laptop on the desk besides the work laptop the second they implemented a new privacy agreement that forbade personal data on work devices. So far no one has said anything.

  • Gravelty, the all natural alternative to artificial gravity.

  • I think with the Nazi AfD government coming up in 2029 all of the progress will come to a screeching halt with the then renewed relationship with Russia pushing cheap fossil fuels into the market. I've pretty much given up at this point.

  • I have one right now, with external air supply and a heat exchanger that feeds the heat from the exhaust into my heat buffer for warm water and the heated floors in the rest of the house.

I have my own bit of forest just like basically everyone else in the village, there is no reason to not make use of the scraps that fall off of that during the year.

But then again, I have inherited some very viking-ish genes from my dad's side and I channel the urge to pillage and burn into getting something from the freezer and then curl up with my dog in front of the fire.

Yes, of course I also have solar thermal energy, photovoltaics, battery buffer and a heat pump, I'm not stuck in the past. I just like to have options.

  • That's why you use a good SSD and a USB enclosure. But yes, used thin clients are usually cheaper and you get more bang for the buck.

  • 3h in a room with her might put you over your annual allowed radiation limit though.

  • After a few years of homeownership you usually have everything for stuff around the house in the tool room.

I'm just noticing that having a tool room sounds unusual, seeing it written down.
