  • And any people that can maintain it have all the power and leverage. (I bet they hate that, as they desperately fund robot startups, praying they'll be ready in time. One can't simply "learn skills", unpossible!) These ghouls have already wasted billions collectively on their paranoia / fantasies, burying much of it underground to rot. Essentially because we did not properly tax them.

  • I read this similarly. Most significantly, advertisers in the group are probably less likely to spend on tweeter now. The complete opposite of Elen's goal. The advertisers simply "deleted" the group (not any actual ad agencies), because it was calculated to cost the least. The group, GARM, was an attempt to collectively manage harm to their brands, which they will obviously continue to do in other ways.

  • Agreed. A real PITA to organize, some unintuitive and hidden options, but very basic. I've used sync and organized on desktop. (But now I do NOT sync desktop bookmarks at all, it has messed them up too many times.)

Not a huge problem, but annoying. Like some newer non-removable toolbar buttons on desktop. Lack of JXL support. I'm a huge Firefox and Mozilla fan, used non-stop for years, but it has annoyances. The team also used to quickly cater to user feedback, but that seems to have slowed.

  • Trigger warning, please. Many of us survived the internet's tragic Compression Artifact Wars. I know that some pockets of less fortunate areas still fight on, but we should not help spread their ignorance or nostalgic afflictions. Let us destroy this scourge once and for all. Modern and lossless formats for all!

^(This message is sponsored by JPEG XL. If you would like to help, contact Mozilla and urge them to fully support the format. Thanks to Apple for their support. Google is evil.)

  • "You can't fire me, I quit!""Sir, this is a Wendy's San Francisco. Please just leave." "You'll be hearing from my lawyers!"

  • Russia deserves to be booted from the internet at this point. A glorified gas station, home to massive numbers of bots and agitators, allowed to undermine democracies worldwide. Cut the cables. (Install a quick-disconnect? It's like a series of pipes, right? /s)

Then we need to deal with poorly moderated sites (like Elon's) that encourage dis/misinfo and hate to spread, under the guise of "freeze peach".

  • They're all easy to avoid giving money to. That said, all of those things would be much improved, virtually overnight, if he were to just... spontaneously combust. (Or, even less probable, seek psychological help.)

It's amazing how much damage a few men (Putin, Trump, Musk...) are allowed to do. History indicates this has always been the case, but at least we didn't have a live feed of their every deranged thought or desperate cry for attention.

  • Yup. It's not worth any time trying to figure out their "rules", because there are none, and they don't need any. These deranged morons are unburdened by logic (or principles, morals, honesty, consistency). And there are entire industries now grinding out profit from the idiocy and hate. It's just business.

  • Oh no. What kind of outrageous scandal forced you to "resign and spend more time with family"? Wait, it's just cats, it actually sounds nice.

  • This is a very good point. If she ever ends up on Fox (hope not), it would be negligent not to use this attack. T**** lost, and he still can't admit this basic, important fact. A fact his lawyers, all around the country, could not escape, in even the most friendly jurisdiction. Some of them are now disbarred because of this. Fox News paid an incredible sum (and lost Cucker) because of this.

  • NYT are fools for using that headline. Their journalists, or editor, obscured the facts with that one. "Updated" headline (not joking):

Trump Cancels a Debate With Harris on ABC News and Pitches One With Fox News Instead

  • Maybe the EU should just fight the (typically Russian) passive aggression with some of their own. "Delay" this asshole's funding, while denying it. Ignore their requests, give them the runaround. Be a complete pain in the ass at every opportunity. Let Hungary pick themselves up by the bootstraps. Maybe they should vote for a better leader next time.

  • It's almost the least someone at the campaign could do. I'll donate eventually (they seem to be doing fine for now!), but it would be great to see them show some love for the superior principled social media outcasts of the fediverse and Mastodon.

  • Sounds a lot like Obama. High quality human, unwilling to get too dirty battling human sewage, bad faith tactics, delays, obstructions, etc. Gave up a supreme court nominee due to... "norms". To be fair, nobody imagined a clown/wannabe-dictator and his three (!?) SCOTUS picks to quickly reshape the presidency into a monarchy with infinite powers.

  • POTUS says no, and the Texas attorney general should respectfully go fuck himself. Thousands of miles and billions of dollars of easily surmounted walls is not a real plan for border security.

  • I doubt they're even people, if it's on M***'s bot-infested, rotting corpse of a website. Just part of the reason "drama" in that cesspool should never be elevated or cared about more than any other tabloid clickbait. And any actual humans remaining are inevitably the most miserable, gullible, brain-damaged fools (or looking to swindle them).

  • What is this? Death Warrant (the 1990 prison action film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme)?

With help from Priest and Hawkins, Burke breaks into the infirmary and finds several boxes labeled "medical waste" that are actually full of human organs.

  • Has the supreme court stripped the SEC of its powers yet (unconstitutional!)? Did it ever have any, besides slap-on-the-wrist fines? Garbage like DJT couldn't even exist if we had halfway decent regulations.
