yes, going upstream if it's maintained is usually the best choice
hardware is a problem only once, when you transition. Once it's done you will only buy hardware that you know will work. So yes it's annoying but it gets easier.
Edit: they also obviously do not have a choice. If they legally must weaken their work and the core of their work is that it's not weak... then they have no work. So they can't accept it.
Does it work? Who knows but at least signals to anybody who might want to still your bike that you went the extra mile to prevent theft and you will consequently be annoying enough to signal it at stolen wherever you can. Sure it can be removed somehow (Dremel I guess) but it's extra work that will look very suspicious on a "normal" sale.
FWIW it's also free, you just request the sticker on their Website and receive it by mail few days after.
PineTab2, been using one for a while now. Few minor things, e.g. specific USB-C ports for charging vs data and BT driver not (yet) working but otherwise, great device at that price point IMHO.
FWIW your house does not need smart devices, you can add them yourself as easily as adding a light bulb and a ZigBee dongle on your RPi or even desktop (but nicer if it's always on IMHO).
You screw the light bulb in and if you leave the house one day for another one, you just unscrew it. Sure you can do more, e.g. replacing light switches, etc but you can also add plugs the same way.
I'm not trying to say anybody "needs" that, only highlighting that it's not a heavy thing to setup and remove.
Thanks and my apologies for not being clear enough but I've been running HomeAssistant for years now, so that part is covered, I mean specifically location tracking.
I imagine it's in https://companion.home-assistant.io/docs/core/location/ but checking. Unfortunately this feature specifically does not seem supported in the Web client, which is what I tend to prefer. For this specific situation I might reconsider. Are you using it and if so how?
Thanks, I already have been using a card reader for years now and mine words well. I meant specifically this form factor that can fold. I did find an alternative since then though (cf link just below).
It's not linear. The first time they probably thought "Oh... another chat app, such a big deal, so complex! I'll never manage" but now that they did with Signal and realize it's not that hard, having another will be much easier.
Now on the actual question, I do not know. What actual information does Google get from it and as importantly what can they infer from it? Might actually be good to ask Signal developers since it's because of their choice.
I agree that computers are phone but in this specific context I don't believe that would fit. Do people take an exam on a phone? Actual average people I mean, not few hackers who (rightfully) believe it's an interesting technical feat. Also IMHO for phones to be considered computers then isn't a locked bootloader ALSO precisely a problem?
So... sure get it fixed for phones too!
If Apple managed to switch it's own hardware port to USB-C this seems relatively simple in comparison.
ARM laptops, and they’ve got an x86 version of Debian.
I feel like Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian) a lot of that is already addressed, including package availability. Few years ago it was tricky but now, a LOT is available due to the success of ARM on phones, tablets, etc.
Neat, glad you managed.
