  • I'm not going to argue about who should or shouldn't be permitted to own firearms. I grew up around them and in general don't have issue with them. (On a side note: I do have a problem with firearm tough guy culture) I do however think it's silly to pretend they aren't manufactured as weapons and pretend that normal tools and objects are on the same level as them. They are designed to kill.

  • I hate that argument. I think we can all agree that while all items you listed can be dangerous... Only one is manufactured to intentionally be a weapon. I haven't seen very many wood chipper attacks on schools lately.

  • In my humble experience the through axels have larger diameter hole in the dropouts. Also, through axels are just a hole where quick release is usually a slot. There might be some adapter out there but it seems like it would be a lot of work to get the two systems to meet up. People have used quick release system for many many years. I'm sure if you're looking for a better roll there are easier options than this one. Maybe just swap the bearings or get nicer wheels?

  • I say "sorry not today" or something similar but also offer food if I have it. I've usually got a Clif bar or something. Also nice to have emergency blankets for winter hand outs.

    Edit: just remember they are people too. Regardless of their current situation. Some might have mental health issues, others maybe substance abuse problems, some might just be down on their luck and unable to find work. Treat them with the respect you would want if you were in their shoes.

  • People are so weird with their cast iron care.... I scrub it with hot water, a brush, and maybe some soap depending on how dirty it is. Then I dry it off LIKE A NORMAL PAN and heat a little oil in it again to keep it from rusting. The only thing you need to do different than a normal pan is get some oil on it and heat it up after washing. It's a ferrous metal so it'll rust if it isn't protected.

    Edit: for wiping out I just use a paper towel with a little oil on it
