  • I have to replace mine soonish. One of the brackets on it has broken and I’ve never gotten round to replacing it, even though it’s only £100 for a new one. What’s with the angle grinder and drill? Aren’t they just bolted on?

  • This’ll be the second time they’ve taken territory from Ukraine and gotten away with it. They’ll probably take Belarus once that dictator dies, and they’ll eventually take Moldova since they already control part of it. They’ll keep trying to take all of Ukraine until it happens.

  • The stupid dickheads beat piracy by making streaming so good that there was little point in it. Now they’ve got all greedy again, spreading the content between too many different platforms and shoving ads into services where people are already paying.

  • How does this even work? It’s like they don’t realise they don’t own the car once it’s been sold. What’s to stop someone just hacking it and unlocking it?

  • Corel Linux. It didn’t last long because it didn’t play my games.

  • I game on Fedora because it was just the OS I installed on my gaming PC when I moved to Linux. Everything is fine between Steam, Heroic, and Lutris. The NVIDIA drivers were easy to install from the App Store and the only game that doesn’t run well is Death Loop but there’s been some updates and I haven’t tried it in six months so it may be better now. There was a memory leak apparently but I think there were more problems.

  • I expect that the plan to go full electric with cars in 5 years will get cancelled since that will basically mean handing over our vehicle production to China.

  • Only 58% voted for it? Who would vote against this? Are 42% of the population corporate fat cats?

  • I expect we’re eventually going to start seeing AI in more sensible places and these NPUs will prove useful. Hopefully soon the bubble will burst and we’ll stop seeing it crammed in everywhere, then it’ll start being used where it actually improves a product rather than wherever an LLM will fit.

  • I never have dressing on my salad, I think a lot of people don’t. Salads are healthy, dressings are not.

  • Thank God we’ve got the government here to protect us.

  • I honestly don’t know why you guys love shitting on AI so much. I flew into Munich, where I’d never been before, and had to hurry to a pub in the middle of town. ChatGPT managed to tell me exactly what train to go for, how to get to the platform in the airport, and even what the signs that I should be following looked like. It was literally like having local knowledge.

  • I find this one hard to believe.

  • BCDC

  • Anyone but me. I’ll do the laundry, the dishwasher, cleaning, gardening, driving, etc. I just hate cooking.

  • I don’t see why people hate Spotify so much. I used to go out and pay £10 for an album decades ago, multiple times a month sometimes. Now I can basically listen to anything for the price of an album a month. Plus, you can play Spotify on just about any device, even all the open source solutions that Netflix blocked like 15 years ago. On top of that it’s Swedish rather than American.

  • Im genuinely curious as to what themes and DE you’re using that looks better. In Windows everything is slick and polished, stuff slides and bounces around, the colours are consistent and work together, it’s all pretty elegant. I’m using KDE right now and all that I get is the start menu thing changes shade when I hover the mouse over it. I also use Gnome and XFCE, Gnome is pretty good and XFCE is obviously really basic.

  • Reaction videos I guess, but a lot of people are doing that.

  • I say this as a Linux user, Windows is still considerably easier to use and it certainly looks a lot slicker.
