  • I searched it and found there were some cases of people being asked to login when they used the clock app but it appears to have been a bug.

  • I think people with 5mil could probably get in a lot cheaper.

  • While the idea sounds good I don’t think anyone should be setting a precedent to say it’s okay for elected governments to ban opposition parties from running based on their political views. Ultimately the people should hold the power.

  • I hope they’re going to keep the late 90s theme from Thunderbird. Maybe a dancing baby gif.

  • What’s the point in doing this and complaining that no one outside of American buys American cars?

  • He could have done all this without being such a dick and if he’d been polite about it other countries would have probably been somewhat understanding, at least in public sentiment. It’s not a good look to claim everyone else is ripping you off. If they were ripping you off you wouldn’t be the richest country in the world.

  • Sorry, I love Linux and wish everybody was on it but no way is Windows “just as hard”. Maybe if you want to look behind the curtain and start tinkering Linux is easier but on the face of it I’d say Linux is somewhere around early Windows XP when it comes to usability for a normal person.

  • Didn’t realise Bahco were American.

  • US vehicle manufacturers will just put up their prices by 24%.

  • I honestly am starting to think that compulsory service is a good thing, I wish I’d had to do it. I’ve known lots of people who are from countries that have to do it and I expected them to hate it but they seemed fine with it. And they all had much better self-discipline than the normal person.

  • We learnt about it at school, but England has a lot of history to learn and other than “it’s bad” it doesn’t exactly have a whole lot of relevance as far as applications go. The modern issues with racism are a bit more nuanced than “people who look different are animals”.

  • I had loads of memory cards back when they were actually current technology, so did my friends. I don’t remember anyone ever reporting issues with them other than losing them or accidentally wiping someone else’s save games. I think they’re pretty reliable.

  • I’ve never heard of that too one. Where’s it from?

  • People in Finland roll their eyes at this.

  • I actually don’t mind doing the dishes, don’t know why. I actually like it more than doing the dishwasher but it takes too long

  • When it comes to boycotting just reducing your usage is still a good thing. You also have to think about getting other people onboard. I still use Google Maps and Gmail (simply because it’s connected to all my stuff) but I’ve got plenty of people to use DDG just built showing how the results are arguably better and it’s really easy to !g to Google if you don’t find what you want.

  • If they know Siri’s shit then why can’t I have my power button back?

  • I can sort of see why it’s not been a priority for them. Outside of the US nobody uses SMS or the built in text apps. I just went through my phone and I haven’t had a text message that wasn’t business related since July.

  • I know we give Ubuntu and Canonical a hard time but I think we've got a lot to thank them for. They pretty much spearheaded the movement to change the image of Linux being purely for geeks, and I think there's a lot of non-enterprise software support that simply wouldn't be there without them drumming up interest.
