  • Its 100% free with a totally optional donation. Appreciate there's been a lot of concern about their partnering with FUTO, but I checked heavily into it and I'm comfortable there won't be a rug pull.

  • The killing fields and 'interrogation centers' were a chilling tour when I went.

  • I'm thrilled were still making games like this.

  • Ugh I mean I know we have block and are encouraged to do it, but there's only so much I feel like doing. I'm at a point of nearly instant banning any community that sounds copy/paste from reddit

  • Not convinced the masses will go back, they will keep flocking to whatever's hyped and new. Many countries only know web2.0 as the internet and never experienced the wild west, their world is Facebook and whatsapp

  • I despise the centralized web and actively avoid it. Theres still plenty of WEB1.0 oit there, its just gettibg harder to find as years go on. But there are some things I don't want to go back to, gore and other shock stuff comes to mind.

Posting on forums and finding random websites, GeoCities, tripod, chatting on IRC.. These were the days.

I wish I'd never stopped using IRC for chat tbh

  • This one's gonna get pitchforky.

  • You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain.

  • My hardcore windows only friend is discussing joining me on Bazzite really seriously. If it gets him, it will get a few tech savvy but windlass only people.

Still a long way off non-tech people though

  • We create tech these days to extract maximum value from the populace, not so much to make lives better

  • Not at all, there are valid uses for LLMs and I take this community with a gain of salt. I think a lot of us passionately hate the hype narrative and useless uses for the tech, but it doesn't mean that every single use of it is inherently bad.

The biggest thing if worry about might be the risk of it giving/outputting misleading information if it's easy for you to sense check it.

  • Yeah there's bug fixes I've been following for 3-4 years that have no traction, I wouldn't hold your breath. Considering readar just got discontinued I wouldn't be totally surprised if the same happened to lidarr.

  • Oh that's tremendous, I don't run windows to see this. But come to think of it I have come across some ancient screens doing odbc/data connections ancient popups in excel at work!

  • If some of the stories are to be believed, some of the code dates back to 3.1/dos too

  • The whole Daikatana story is wild

  • Yeah I'm sold to, thanks internet stranger!

  • Lossless scaling worked wonders for me on windows before I upgrades to a 4080.

I only game Linux now, so I hope this becomes an option

  • I love we have people doing things like this
