If covid and Trump have taught me anything it's that the majority of people aren't willing to do a damned thing until they themselves are hurt in some way. Based on this and my experience with peoples' unwillingness to admit they're wrong, I'd say we'll keep going until the majority of people tap-out from the heat.
Why is the default position assuming this person is a menace enough to spend resources seeking out and removing? The studies I've seen say immigrants use fewer resources and provide more, but this narrative gets spread around that they're just a bunch of leeches that deserve to be punished at great expense.
That's not justice. That's blindly following a law because you don't know how to think or empathize.
The environmental impacts are going to be awful. With Chevron stripped and full gop legislative control it's going to be free reign for companies to pollute whatever they want.
There are so many things at stake, but people really don't know how bad Trump's supreme court has fucked the environment already. Getting the average voter to care about it won't happen until it's far too late. I try to just not think about it.
I mean, it's pretty simple for me in that I won't pay for a streaming service that has ads. Others might, but I don't care what others pay for. I left cable for this reason and I'll leave its next incarnation if that is to be.
