  • And by "nicer" you mean telling a captive audience about their recent extravagant vacation and finishing with "follow your dreams!"

  • Celebrities with distinct looks almost by definition have to be exceptions to this discussion. Wearing a giant clock necklace to work would absolutely be weird unless it were Flavor Flav.

  • This is what really hit me reading Mark Twain's autobiography when he started describing the atrocities by the US government against Native Americans.

His autobiography was dictated to a stenographer which he then edited later. This way it has the feeling of a simple discussion with Twain, and because of this the discussion of tragedy as a current event, just as you and I would chat over a coffee, really hits home how little we've changed.

  • I watched the video and was shocked at how casual the conversation was. He straight up says maybe we should start killing the homeless and the other hosts just nod along.

  • They're constantly looking for new loyalty tests. This is nothing new for them.

  • Old Captain, refuses call

  • This is how republicans run Texas. They've had a stranglehold on Texas politics for decades and yet still blame anything bad on democrats, woke, and sustainable energy. They blamed the freeze on windmill farms, for fucks sake.

  • To be fair, we're all way worse on the banjo than that.

  • Bar owls really are so beautiful.

  • A fine point if anyone in control of the unlimited growth we're accounting for it in any meaningful way.

  • When I was young my parents encouraged me to watch Marx Brothers, Three Stooges, and Abbott & Costello. These are easy things for children to watch because the physical comedy is universal.

As I got older my love for them remained, but also it gave me a love for media from any age. So long as it's done reasonably I think this sort of thing can be quite enriching.

  • That would seem hypocritical if you're completely blind to poetic irony, yes.

  • I've read this before. I'm pretty sure I've seen more than a few dog attack videos with their tails wagging.

  • It's the one thing I never really understood when I read about it in history classes. The blatant hypocrisy, particularly how fascism is obsessed with "strong men" while worshipping the whiniest manchildren. It seemed important because it was a top comment by people who lived through it, but I never understood it until Trump.

  • Fatty meat will result in a lot of grease that if poured down the sink will solidify on the walls of your drain pipes.

  • It's very possible, dare I say preferred, to have a traditional Thanksgiving spread getting made in the kitchen while someone grills up some veggies.

  • This is confirmed by a search that's faster than your comment so where's your anger coming from?

  • He's explicit about being a science communicator and welcomes that discussion.

  • Your point is amplifying troll messaging and rolling over to defeatism. It's about as weak as discourse gets.
