  • He killed loyal communists, many falsely accused of treason, and became the poster boy of the Red Scare, providing anti-communists with propaganda to equate socialism with totalitarianism. His oppressive policies, human rights abuses, and betrayal of socialist principles alienated global leftist movements and set back the progress of socialism by decades.

  • Lib is an American capitalist culture war word like woke. It's a Schrödinger term. Capitalists both claim they're libs without actually promoting any freedoms, but also libs are commies/sjws and the source of all moral decay because a strong boot on the neck is preferred. And then both of the variations keep repeated ad nauseam doing the capitalist bidding so who the fuck knows anymore.

  • Well

    Jump
  • Their libs have maybe under 10 seats, even though capitalists try to claim they are. Doesn't seem like they had any power in this

  • Hey hey, their god emperor worm and bourgies are proud of their dystopia so of course it's not slander! :)

  • Also a two party system with the one they consider being centrist having an ethnic supremacy wing.

The Koreas seem to be just slightly different flavors of authoritarian dystopias.

  • I dunno sounds more like Georgian proletariat seeking emancipation

  • It's what Putin has instructed

  • Maybe they mean 喧宾夺主

  • Sorry, that's the gist of the thing I remember and not the detailed similarities. Maybe I'll ask chatgpt some day

  • Someone named him the Richard Nixon of China and that has stuck with me

  • Checks out

  • Ehh the joke is lost

  • Yea, Stalin's not a trustworthy authority on communism (all puns very much intended) but it's interesting anyway. There was a lot happening and affecting that falling out

  • Yes. Be it the US or China or anywhere else, the hour requirements are an absurd joke

  • That's the expectation but apparently according to scientists, and easy to verify empirically, human cognitive levels decline after some four to six hours of deep focus depending on individuals and unique situations. So the ones grinding for 60 hrs all the time basically don't get anything more or better done. It's just time sheet theater.

Crunch can be an emergency situation kind of thing but that's not sustainable and all and needs its own recovery.

  • Well the work takes 20 hours per week in any case. It's just a matter of if the hour sheet is getting 40/50/60/70 marked in

  • Some don't like that they're too communist

  • It's not a good idea to play this as a zero sum game and harm other countries' climate efforts. At least they are slowly moving towards the paying side iirc from COP29 results

  • Even this would make the world a whole lot different instead of how they affect it now

    1. "Demonstrate great power responsibility. China and the United States should always consider the future and destiny of humanity, take responsibility for world peace, provide public goods for the world, and play a positive role in world unity, including engaging in positive interaction, avoiding mutual consumption, and not coercing other countries to take sides."
