Just a bastard roaming around the world

  • I don't think so, they could have done it to not spend support time and resources with it.

  • This is so weird, I don't see ads anywher-

    remembers that NextDNS is installed

    Oh. Right.

  • Just made me realize I haven't printed anything in what, 5 years? Even at work, sharing files is way easier.

    • proprietary light bulbs, tires and air valves.
    • can only open anything engine related like fluids at the dealership.
    • can only fix broken windows at the dealership.
    • repairing means having to swap the old car for a new one for a fee, or stay with the defective car. The old car will be shredded to "save the environment", following their "green" practices.
  • You're right, I messed up - I always switch between the two, because "update" makes more sense in my head. I fixed the text.

  • sudo apt upgrade -y

To this day I can’t figure out why it killed the GUI and all terminal commands on a Mint install…

  • Try viralwalk, works quite the same.

  • The one upgrade from Apple that I see it's worth was the 15 line, because the finally dropped lightning for USB-C.

  • I really loved AI up to the point when it was a personal option. As in, I had to actively search it to use. When it began to be crammed into everything, sending my personal data to a cloud without being able to opt out, that's a line a didn't want to be crossed and it's being forced unto me. That's when I really began to hate the feature.

  • The smile says “hi” but the eyes says “help me”.

  • As someone who knows nothing about Arch, what do you do if your app exists only as a .deb file? Can you install it?

  • Lots of illustrators and writers have Threads and Instagram because it's where the money is. They rely on that kind of exposure to sell and show their work. Following from Mastodon without a Threads account would be awesome.

Not to mention that many Mastodon users are ridiculously "purists" saying that no ad or sell should be on the network, ever, and are actively hostile to the small guys trying to make a living here. I agreed that big corps can fuck off because they overdo ads, but the small guy selling his weird contraptions or custom phone cases should see Mastodon as an alternative. But the truth is that they won't.

  • Of course let's take a platform that barely holds itself together to show just text and let's pivot it to be the most technical demanding and expensive kind of service. It will work fine, I'm sure.

  • "We're not backtracking, we're just doing a 180° turn from our previous course". Fucking clowns, probably the Nazi money wasn't enough to compensate the loss of subscribers.

  • That's it, I'm going to use hunter123456789 now for maximum security!

  • I once used a vertical monitor at work and people thought it was wild. A tilted monitor would cause a full blown riot at my job, and I don't want blood in my hands.

  • This, aside from sideloading, would make me actually consider an iPhone.

  • Weak effort at trolling, chap. Very weak.

  • Now that's a condescending shit talk. They may like their job, they could be working behind the scenes to try and contain the damage. They could be doing the best they could do with the little power they had. You try to speak against your boss alone and trash the industry you're in, see how well it goes for you.
