  • I posted it after seeing it on Mastodon, I've been looking around and doesn't look like it's accurate. Going to look a little more but delete in a couple minutes if I can't find anything. :(

  • It's a terrible comparison.

Nobody's going to give the child of a talented surgeon the chance to do surgery on themselves.

But they might give the child of a talented actor a role in a film, this is a situation of connections not nurture.

    Example: After Earth (2013)

  • But, how much is the rulebook worth now?

  • The assault weapon ban was an example of banning an 'arm' legally without it infringing on second amendment rights. Or the example the person I responded to posted, grenade launchers.

I'm not suggesting an 'assault weapon ban'.

I'm pointing out that just about any 'arm' can be made illegal. Hell, check out your local knife laws.

Any discussion of racist gun laws is a whole other discussion, but that discussion should include Governor Ronald Reagan.

  • Damn straight, there are so many laws stating which weapons/accessories are legal AND it does not violate the 2nd amendment, nor does it require a constitutional change.

Example: Federal Assault Weapons Ban https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Assault_Weapons_Ban

The 10-year ban was passed by the U.S. Congress on August 25, 1994, and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on September 13, 1994.[1] The ban applied only to weapons manufactured after the date of the ban's enactment. It expired on September 13, 2004, following its sunset provision. Several constitutional challenges were filed against provisions of the ban, but all were rejected by the courts. There have been multiple attempts to renew the ban, but none have succeeded.

I find myself arguing with my coworkers about this all the time, but I like to sum it up like this.

If there are arms you cannot bare, then the second amendment is not limitless.

  • Fun fact, those can also run on the oil that cools the gray transformers on the power poles.

  • The second Pacific Rim movie.

One of the biggest frustrations in their world is finding two people who can coordinate to power the giant suits. It's more than physical coordination, they seem to need some sort of bond.

The second movie opens up with the young female character hodgepodging together a single smaller one she can drive alone, nobody gives a s***. They continue looking for people with perfect partners to drive the slightly larger ones.

  • Brought to you by Draft Kings!

  • It's Worse than that, Rob Reiner died because he said things (in a country with 'freedom of speech') that somebody else murdered him for (according to Trump alone).

Pure victim blaming. He's not calling out the violence, he's encouraging it. He's calling out the criticism itself.

  • The fake website was "thedailyaus.world" created today anonymously.

Seems kinda sus that grok would pick up on something so far.

  • Oh, they do not have to pay 'fines'

However, if the car is driverless, there is likely no punishment.

According to the Atlanta Police Standard Operating Procedure, they are told not to issue citations to driverless vehicles.

    The standards read in part:

“The court system is currently unable to process traffic citations for AVs with no human operator. If the vehicle violates a traffic law, where a citation would be warranted, the officer must write a report providing the details surrounding the incident and the law that was violated.”

After this incident a Waymo self-drove around a stopped school bus, there were no charges, but this article says that will change in 2026

  • Hell has not frozen over.

I'll accept hell has frozen over when the House, Senate, and Executive sign legislation, WITH TEETH, regarding stock trading.

  • Those time trials! Brutal! Also Force Field!
