When I grow up I hope to use gentoo. I’ve always wanted to be one of the cool Linux kids. I got my first gentoo disk back in 2003 and I was never able to figure out what to do.
Absolutely. I saw this headline and was rather surprised. Note the “for now” in my post. Trans people have been targeted the entire time during this administration. I said on Lemmy for trans people need to arm themselves, and I mean carry outside when they are interacting with society, because the gays were some of the first people snatched and put into concentration camps, the trans groups seem to be the first target this time.
Because I’m not some MAGAt I am personally concerned about my safety when out in public now, although my immediate area is pretty mixed racially and politically, I still live in a Trump state. How long until some kind of martial law is declared where I live? How long until some kind of political litmus test is given to be able to purchase goods? Have a job? Etc.
Again, for now, one of the critical differences between any other authoritarian government and the US is we have access to firearms. Don’t allow the jackboots take you without a fight.
I think the Debian Fedora and Arch groups are the most diverse they’ve ever been.
