  • That's closer to what I was thinking. Most of the suggestions in here are outright vandalism which is an asymmetric response and not very defensible. But if you're physically capable, depending on traffic conditions, I'd feel like the safest route to go is over the top of the car. I'd do it for a car-shaped rock, so a car-shaped car is no different.

  • The woman at the town hall explained that her representatives are not responsive to her questions, even as she repeatedly calls Sen. Marsha Blackburn. When she reached staff at Sen. Bill Hagerty’s office, they told her, “he’s not obligated to listen to his constituents.”

The entitlement on display, hopefully this makes it into the history books

  • I see what you mean, and I hope you're right.

  • Thanks for explaining! That's very encouraging.

  • I see your point, but it still feels like press bait to me. Is there any way what gets released can be verified to be authentic? I have seen one or two MAGA supporters speaking out over it, but I have serious doubts they won't return after a trivial capitulation like this. What I'd love to see is engagement from people who didn't vote, I want to see protest crowds getting bigger. I understand your frustration, but I think it's valid to try to absorb the other news as well.

  • I guess it doesn't really need to be something worse -- they have full control over the narrative, and the WH clearly won't actually release anything meaningful, so keeping it in the news is a huge attention magnet with practically no downside. Maybe an extra week of all other news getting buried is worth it. Maybe it's a favor to that CEO who got caught cheating at a Coldplay concert. I get the impression that when he does something weirdly out-of-character it's a misdirection, so I'll look at page two of the news for awhile.

  • Distraction from something worse, probably.

  • Sounds like a globe made of hands

  • Yeah! Where's my Dvorak mobile tactile keyboard?

  • RTX ON

  • Did you mean to paste a source link for that quote?

  • Is bleaching off the table completely? You could frost the tips and still have a very professional styling -- just comb it off to the side, add some gel and comb it back, whatever fits your face. Then on the weekends get your spikes on.

  • Here to plug SpinRite for the health of your backups

  • Thanks for the reply! PEBKAC issue -- I was logged in with the right account, but the email I requested to join the beta from was not a google account so I had to make one for this. I forgot to change the email in my Walkscape account portal to the gmail I made. All good now!

  • I was accepted into the beta, but I'm unable to find the app in the store. I joined the google group, but I'm not sure what else to check. When I follow the link it shows the app in the browser, but when I try to find it with the play store app it can't be found. Any ideas?

  • Windows 11 PCs are up to 2.3x faster than Windows 10 PCs

Based on testing performed by Microsoft in December 2024 using Geekbench 6 Multi-core score comparing a selection of Windows 10 PCs with Intel Core 6th, 8th, and 10th generation processors and Windows 11 PCs with Intel Core 12th and 13th generation processors. Performance will vary significantly by device and with settings, usage and other factors.

I mean... okay? Pretty sure that has very little to do with the OS at that point. That's kind of like saying the PS5 is faster than the PS4 -- yeah, I'm upgrading hardware, of course it's faster. Kinda surprised they only got 2.3x with that basis of comparison.

  • Ah, thanks. I thought it was a Roman AR-14

  • Stand down, soldier. It is not yet your time.
