What consensus they can muster among the older ranks is to not upset their wealthy donors, so any chance of creating a policy to invigorate the working class is out of the question. Any policy that is good for the working class will tap the brakes on the unfettered looting being done by the ruling class, so that's a no starter for the establishment Democrats.

If a healthcare CEO generates record profits by denying care to people who have paid into the system, he's protected from his actions by corporate law, and even rewarded with large sums of money.
